The Syston boys have done good!
What have we done? We have done, what we have always done. We have provided great service to our customers, which makes them come back again and again. We love providing excellent service – it is in our DNA.
But then one day, we got the ‘ping’ of an email. In fact, 3 emails.
The email said that we were nominated for a Niche Award. But we had 3 emails. Then we realised we had been nominated for 3 different awards categories – Business Growth, Family Business and Best Small Business. This was mind blowing for us and just being nominated we knew was a huge achievement, as someone believed in us enough to put the application forward.
Then a few months later we found out that the Judging Panel had selected Imperial Roofing Services to be FINALIST!
Not in one of the categories, but in all 3 categories! This was just overwhelming. We could not believe it!!! Us lads from Syston, just working hard, every day, getting such incredible recognition. Whether we won or not, we felt like WINNERS.
The Awards night was meant to have been in September 2020, but due to COVID-19, it was rearranged (a few times) but with still no luck to have a proper event, Niche created a virtual celebration Awards Party in January 2021. And they did an amazing job. Luckily as it was virtual, we just really needed our top half to look the part so with our bowties on, we dialled in for the Awards. We truly did not think we would win as we were up against incredible and large businesses. And that was true for Business Growth and Family Business, which were both awarded to other Finalists which are truly incredible businesses. Then came the announcement for Best Small Business. And OMG could you believe it… we only went and WON!!!
Speechless. Overwhelmed. Felt like we were dreaming. This kind of thing does not happen to us. Then panic as the audio on our Zoom was turned on and we got the asked the question, ‘So Graham, how do you feel winning this Award?’
Well, my words came truly from my heart. We do not think we are special. We do what we love. We pride ourselves on great customer service. We love to support our local community. Our team is incredible. Together these things have served us well, to serve our customers well. WE are truly humbled by receiving this Award. To receive this recognition for all our hard work, dedication and sacrifices we have made along the way, really makes it, even more, worthwhile. We could not have done it without the support of our amazing team, customers, suppliers, and supporters. We are grateful to every one of you.

We are a family run company formed in 1999 and we pride ourselves on being a truly independent roofing merchant, with no affiliation with a contractor or supplier. This unique position allows us to give impartial advice, based on years of experience in the building industry. Based in Syston, Leicestershire (selling and delivering to Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Loughborough, and Lincolnshire), we pride ourselves on service to trade and public, providing a large range, including exclusive products, of quality well-known brands as well as reclaimed products.
As a business in Leicestershire, growth and supporting the local economy is close to our hearts… now more than ever. We have numerous initiatives to support local businesses:
Our out of hours mobile phone number for emergency roofing materials to be delivered out of hours, i.e., during storms.
Bespoke repayment methods. We appreciate that this does not make great business sense to some, but for Imperial, we believe in supporting businesses that need a little extra help. This has been critical during these recent months to a few of our customers. Relationships and trust are core to this.
Provide FREE training on new products and systems to help our customers increase their portfolio of work.
Support new businesses to setup in the roofing trade. In recent months, sadly due to redundancies in the building sector, many roofers have decided to move into self-employment. This is quite a scary thing to do – especially in the current climate. We recognise this and have offered support and advice to help get them kickstarted. We love watching them grow and become successful.
